Job summary
Are you a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist who is looking to make a difference to the lives of patients in a secure Forensic setting? If you are experienced working clinically in Forensics as a senior Occupational Therapist and are passionate about providing leadership, support, and developing your team this band 7 clinical lead post could be for you.
This position is based at Woodlands House in Aylesbury, a 20 bedded male low secure in-patient ward.
This role is also eligible to receive RSU allowance of £1,446 per annum.
Main duties of the job
You will have extensive mental health and forensic experience and be committed to providing clinical leadership, educational and management skills. You will work closely with and receive support from the Professional Lead OT to develop these skills. You will be responsible for promoting the role of Occupational Therapy within the multi-disciplinary team. You would be expected to have experience of using Occupational Therapy models of practice such as MOHO and be confident in providing support to staff to use this model to guide their clinical practice.
A passion for research and embedding learning into practice is required to ensure that the service continues to grow and benefit from the investment committed to staff training. The service puts a strong emphasis on having a positive learning culture and encourages staff to develop skills and knowledge to reach their full potential. As the Clinical Lead you will have responsibility for ensuring continuing staff and service development.
You will be responsible for overseeing and the delivery of Occupational Therapy to patients detained under the Mental Health Act at Woodlands House, making sure that resources are used efficiently and effectively to support patients in achieving their goals.
