We are recruiting for a Patient and Public Involvement, Engagement and Participation (PPIEP) Lead to join us on a fixed-term 18 month contract on a part time basis (15 hours per week) based at the Warneford Hospital in Oxford.

As our PPIEP Lead working in the only Mental Health CRF in the UK, you would be part of our friendly, multidisciplinary team facilitating patients and the public to have a meaningful voice in the delivery of our research.

Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust has identifiedResearch as one of four key objectives in its five-year strategy making this an exciting time to join the Trust which also hosts the NIHR Cognitive Health Clinical Research Facility, the NIHR Applied Research Collaboration and the NIHR Community Healthcare MedTech and In vitro Diagnostics Co-operative.

This role provides the opportunity to become a key member of the experienced OH-CRF Management Team as it deliversinnovative mental and brain health research.Our research aims not only to improve and reshape our own services, but also to develop and/or influence future treatments within healthcare services worldwide.

Main duties of the job

A variety of research studies are currently run at the OH-CRF at The Warneford Hospital: from National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) and other grant funded studies through to commercial clinical trials. Studies include observational cohort studies through to CTIMPs, covering a wide variety of disease indications from healthy volunteers to those suffering from specific conditions such as schizophrenia, depression, and dementia.

Your main duties in this role will include:

  • Development, co-ordination and management of the PPIEP and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Strategies for the OH-CRF
  • Working closely with the OH-CRF team, and support PPIEP contacts to ensure PPIEP is embedded in the OH-CRF work and increase its output and impact
  • Linking with key stakeholder networks there will be a focus on how underrepresented communities, schools and patient groups may become involved in research and new initiatives.
