Job summary

We are recruiting for a Head Housekeeper to join our team at Marlborough House, a forensic inpatient ward based at the Milton Keynes Hospital site.

The housekeeping team works closely with nursing staff to ensure a clean and safe environment for our patients as well as overseeing catering provisions. The role is full time (37.5 hours per week) and will involve shift working including weekends and bank holidays over a rolling rota, which will be paid at an enhanced rate.

Main duties of the job

o Manage porters and cleaners ensuring that all service standards are met and maintained

o Carry out localised induction with all new staff members

o Conduct annual appraisals and monthly supervisions for managed staff

o Authorising annual leave and recording/managing sickness levels

o Ensure that all staff training is completed in liaison with Facilities co-ordinator

o Support line manager with rotas and cleaning schedules

o Ensure that staffing levels are maintained to adequately meet the service requirements; to highlight any issues immediately to line manager
