Job summary
The Meadow Unit is a brand new purpose built CAMHS PICU (Psychiatric Inpatient Unit for Children and Young People) which opened in late 2023 and we are looking for a well-motivated, conscientious, and friendly person who is willing to learn and play a key role in improving the lives of the service users we work with.
This is a Medical Secretary role, which can be demanding, challenging and requires skill to handle all contacts with confidence, compassion, patience and professionalism. It sits within a larger team that is extremely supportive and together we all make a real difference to children and young people
Main duties of the job
Good communication skills are essential together with high levels of emotional resilience. Key duties include:
- Receive telephone calls using a high level of initiative and responding in a confidential and sensitive way
- Supporting with developing Rosters for the Nursing team
- Recording minutes at departmental meetings
- Supporting the ward consultant in managing their diary
- Supporting the ward consultant in managing dates around Mental Health Act administration
- Ensure that client related documentation is entered onto databases for all patients within the team caseload in a timely manner
- Processing patient referrals and discharges from the team
