Job summary

We are excited to share opportunities in our new pathway for Complex Trauma for CYP in BSW. We are aware of the challenges faced by this group of CYP in accessing good quality timely consultation and support and this pathway has been developed to meet this need. Our aim is for this service to be grounded in a strengths-based, trauma informed approach, you have the opportunity to join and influence the direction of a team whose aim will be to embed positive partnerships with key adults and networks to improve the outcomes for young people who have experienced significant trauma.

We are recruiting into a number of Band 8a posts across BaNES, Swindon and Wiltshire (BSW) with various hours available in Keynsham, Marlborough, Melksham, Salisbury and Swindon.

We are looking for multi-disciplinary professionals from the following backgrounds; Registered Mental Health Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Social Worker, Clinical Psychologist, Family and Systemic Therapist and Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist; who will be able to work with children, young people and families/carers from a wide range of social, cultural and ethnic backgrounds.

The pathway will be led by a Senior 8b Clinical lead and the current Head of Psychological Therapies. This is an opportunity for experienced clinicians to join our teams and provide leadership on working with trauma, alongside offering consultation, supervision & treatment.

Main duties of the job

You will provide specialist assessments of children and young people with complex trauma and moderate to severe mental health needs, employing research-based models to formulate and implement plans with individuals, families and carers. This role will work within a multi-disciplinary team alongside a range of professionals such as Psychiatrists, Clinical Psychologists, Systemic and Family Therapists, Nurses, Occupational Therapists and Social Workers and Child and Adolescent Psychotherapists.

You will work autonomously in ways which are sensitive to the needs of CYP and families from a wide range of racial, cultural and religious backgrounds.

This role requires you being able to demonstrate evidence of an anti-oppressive approach at the heart of your practice and to challenge, when needed, oppressive and/ or discriminatory issues that are relevant to the children, young people and families we work with, as well as within the system, or that impact on colleagues.

Posts will be in the following teams, Banes (based in Keynsham), Melksham, Marlborough, Salisbury in Wiltshire and Swindon camhs teams. In the first instance all posts will be interviewed for together and applicants can share their preference re: teams and wte.
