Job summary

We are currently looking to recruit a Deputy Financial Systems Manager

You will be responsible for managing and maintaining the finance and procurement systems and financial reporting solutions used within the trust. This is a key role within the financial systems team which primarily involves ensuring the smooth daily operation of the financial systems, providing system support and training to end users, troubleshooting system issues, participating with future system implementations and upgrades, and contributing towards ongoing system enhancements and development activities.

This is a hybrid working role and will occasionally require travelling to and working in Oxford.

Main duties of the job

The role will collaborate with finance, procurement, IT, and other cross-functional teams within the organisation to deliver a professional service which is focussed on achieving a high level of customer satisfaction. Providing support to the Finance Systems and Operations Manager in the daily administration and maintenance of the financial systems, assisting with the production of timely and accurate financial data and reporting, optimising system processes, and ensuring compliance with the relevant rules, regulations, and legislation.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Maths and English Grade C/4
  • A-Level or NVQ level 4 qualification in accountancy or business, IT, or equivalent experience working in a financial systems role.

Desirable

  • Working towards professional accounting qualification (e.g. AAT/ACCA/CIMA)

Knowledge

Essential

  • Working knowledge and understanding of all relevant components of financial ledger systems.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of all financial business end-to-end processes including Purchase-to-Pay, Order-to-Cash, and Account-to-Report.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of the public sector finance, preferably the NHS.

Skills

Essential

  • Highly developed skills and significant experience of using financial ledger systems and BI reporting tools.
  • Ability to manage system related queries and issues through to completion or escalate as appropriate.
  • Good communication skills and ability to deliver training both in person and over Teams.

Desirable

  • High speed, high precision, data manipulation skills.

  • Experience of manging and supporting finance systems which operate across multiple services and/or organisations.
  • Experience of working in a pressured and complex environment requiring changing priorities and workloads.
