We are recruiting qualified Education Mental Health Practitioners (EMHPs) to join the our Wiltshire MHST. The Wiltshire team works with schools and colleges across the county, with bases in Melksham, Chippenham, Devizes, Westbury and Salisbury.

You will be working in education settings (primary schools, secondary schools and colleges) within a specific area of Wiltshire, which will be agreed upon an offer being made. There will be occasions where we will need you to travel across different Wiltshire sites outside of your specified area.

Your role will be to assess and provide interventions to children and young people with mild to moderate mental health conditions including anxiety and low mood. You will provide early, brief evidence-based interventions to promptly address emerging mental health needs of children and young people, and support schools and colleges to improve mental wellbeing for students.

You will also support schools with their 'Whole School Approach' to mental health and wellbeing. Wiltshire MHST offers a range of psychoeducation and therapeutic groups, staff training, workshops and assemblies to the education settings we support.

Main duties of the job

Your role will be to deliver 1:1 and group interventions to children, young people and caregivers within your allocated schools. You will also support schools with their Whole School Approach to mental health and wellbeing.

You will receive additional training to be able to deliver the full range of interventions offered by Wiltshire MHST. This will include accredited Decider Skills Life Skills training.

Mental Health Support Teams (MHSTs) have been set-up in response the Government's 2017 Green Paper,Transforming children and young people's mental health provision.MHSTs aim to increase access and availability of mental health and wellbeing support for children and young people.

The Wiltshire MHST is made up of four teams: North, South, East and West. We currently cover over 25% of the schools in Wiltshire. Every team has a team base for use in their geographical patch.
