Are you an autonomous practitioner and creative thinker with experience of working with patients who have a forensic history as we have a newly created post for someone who who would thrive in a dynamic and Innovative Team.
This new post will sit in the Specialist Community Forensic Team (SCFT) providing community-based support to people with a Forensic history. This is a community post covering East and West Berkshire. The team base is at the Oxford Clinic, Littlemore Hospital, Sandford Road, Oxford and you would be expected to travel there to attend team meetings when required. Otherwise you will work remotely in the locality.
Main duties of the job
To be a Senior Occupational Therapist working autonomously, as a member of the Specialist Community Forensic Team, working across East/West Berkshire and offering in-reach to the secure services inpatient setting.
To provide preventative, reactive and evidence-based interventions through a combination of specialist risk assessment and management, face to face therapeutic interventions and support.
To support, training, and consultancy to other services to meet the needs of this group.
To provide specialist Occupational Therapy interventions using evidence-based client cantered principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate therapy with those service users within the SCFT.
To actively contribute to the development of the Occupational Therapy role and Occupational Therapy service provision according to identified needs of the multi-disciplinary team and service users needs.
The post holder will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team in the provision of care, therapeutic interventions and treatment to Thames Valley Forensic Services forensic patients, ensuring the highest standards of care are provided. To ensure that services to patients and carers are delivered and developed according to Trust and Social and Healthcare departmental policies.
