Job summary

Based in beautiful Oxfordshire and the Cotswolds we are now looking for a Band 5 NMC registered nurse who is compassionate, enjoys a challenge and is skilled in the delivery of holistic nursing care to patients in their own homes.

Our Community Nursing Service has an established training and induction plan for all new team members and experience in the community is therefore not essential.

You will be expected to work flexibly between the hours of 8 a.m. and 6-30 p.m. 7 days a week, (mostly 7.5 hours shifts) including weekends and bank holidays, across Community nursing to meet the needs of the Service.Our teams deliver high quality care to the housebound patients in our locality and work as part of multi-disciplinary team and in partnership with primary care and secondary care.

We are a motivated and caring team to both patients, those that care for them and our colleagues.

Part - time working for the right candidate may be considered.

Main duties of the job

In addition to clinical skills including End of life care, IV care, wound care, administration of medication and diabetes care you must have excellent communication skills, be reliable, punctual and work well in a team, whilst being adaptable to changing situations.

You will need to be able to work calmly and efficiently, often as a lone worker, within a busy environment in patients homes dealing with unpredictable situations whilst remaining focused on providing a person-centred approach to care and treatment.

As we visit people in their own homes you will need to have a full driving licence and access to a vehicle to use for work, expenses are paid for patient visits.
