Job summary

We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic professional to join our Management Accounts team in an exciting role providing value adding financial analysis. You will be a driven, proactive and approachable professional with the desire to add value to the team and the trust as a whole.

You will work alongside the Senior Directorate Accountant, and wider team in covering the full suite of financial management responsibilities including undertaking detailed expenditure analysis at Trust, directorate and service level as required through to establishment control and forecasting.

You will be supported by the Senior Directorate accountant in managing and building strong working relationships with the Management Accountants team you will supervise, looking after day to day work as well as building development plans for each member of the team.

Main duties of the job

You will support the production of monthly financial reports, proactively investigating variances and providing analytical reports on areas. You will play a key leadership role during the month end reporting period in directly supporting and guiding the Management Accountants in preparation of the directorate analysis for the Senior Financial Management Team.

You will assist in the preparation of the month end finance reports as part of an integrated Financial Management Team. You will liaise with the Senior Directorate Accountant in advance of, and during, the month end reporting period to support the Management Accounts team preparing the directorate reports and undertaking the analysis as required by the Senior Directorate Accountant to facilitate effective discussion and decision making.

You will work with the senior financial management team as required the role will provide financial analysis and support on all aspects of finance related business as directed by the Senior Finance Team.

As a senior member of the Financial Management Team, you will contribute to delivery of the Directorate Strategic Plan including delivery of strategies. You will also take a lead responsibility for Income within the Directorate.
