Main duties of the job

Nurse Cadets work on our wards caring for patients, at the same time as gaining a Diploma in Health and Social Care, completing their Care Certificate and working towards completing National Apprenticeship Standards by having a dedicated day of study each week. On the ward cadets learn the health care assistant role and will be involved with personal care, for example helping to wash, feed and toilet patients as determined by their need. They will be working alongside the multi disciplinary team, gaining an appreciation of their roles and supporting the collaborative approach to patient care.

With a cohort size of around 10 Cadets each year, you're joining an expanding and supportive network of colleagues and professionals who are here to support you to succeed as you progress from leaving School to joining the world of work.

A five week induction period commencing in September gives you the chance to get to know the other Cadets, as well as preparing you for life working on the ward. You will also be supported by colleagues on the ward, as well as our Team in Learning and Development at Unipart House.
