Job summary

Would you like the opportunity to work in a role which provides support to a team delivering hospital level care in an ambulatory service?

You will be part of a caring and dynamic multidisciplinary team and you will provide high level administration to support a dynamic and busy team.

Main duties of the job

As our team administrator you'll be a valued member of the team, responsible for efficient administration to support the team in a fast paced unscheduled care environment.

You will be answering queries by phone, directing referrals, sending letters and managing the flow of data required for improvement projects as well as taking minutes and preparing documents. The role is varied and requires good attention to detail, the ability to prioritise tasks and sound IT skills.

You must have excellent communication skills, be reliable, punctual and work well in a team, whilst being adaptable to changing situations. Creative thinking is a benefit in this changing environment. You will need to be able to work calmly and efficiently within a busy and intensive environment dealing with unpredictable situations whilst working collaboratively to strive for improvement.

WEMU forms part of the Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) provision across the community in Oxfordshire. We work closely with our colleagues in the OUH. Our team consists of nurses, paramedics, occupational and physio therapists and medics, nurse associates and healthcare assistants and a team administrator.

We provide comprehensive and integrated assessments and interventions for people over the age of 18 with sub-acute/urgent care health needs. Each patient receives an individualised MDT assessment, diagnostics and treatment.

WEMU integrates with Abingdon Emergency Multi- Disciplinary Unit (AEMU), Rapid Access Unit (RACU) and Hospital at Home service in providing high quality responsive delivery of Urgent and Ambulatory Care within Oxfordshire. We aim to empower and support patients to effectively manage their conditions.

What we need from you!

  • Be self-motivated and able to work autonomously as well as showing initiative and promoting new ideas on how to improve the service.
  • Be compassionate, caring and creative with excellent communication skills.
  • Strong IT skills with experience of using Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams and Outlook
