Job summary

This post requires oversight and responsibility for research management and operational functions within Oxford Health Foundation Trust and play a significant role within the Oxford Joint Research Office.

Working with two Deputy Heads of R&D, R&D Managers, and the Senior Management Team, you will play a key role in ensuring that research within OHFT is delivered in line with national policies and guidance.

Main duties of the job

The postholder will also represent OHFT on various research networks both locally and nationally.

Leading an established, highly professional, and supportive team they will collaborate with various stakeholders. It is therefore critical that you can build and maintain good working relationships within and across organisations, both with clinical and non-clinical staff at different levels.

Our research aims to not only improve and reshape our own services, but also to develop and/or influence future treatments within healthcare services worldwide.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Hold an applicable management qualification (Diploma, MBA) or demonstrable relevant experience.
  • Educated to Masters level or equivalent.

Desirable

  • Good Clinical Practice (GCP) trained.

Knowledge

Essential

  • Demonstrate sound understanding and specialist knowledge of the requirements of staff in the conduct and support of clinical research.
  • Ability to collaborate constructively with Directors of internal and external partners to create the conditions for successful partnership working.

Desirable

  • Good level of knowledge of the local and national research ecosystem.

Experience

Essential

  • Track record of senior management and leadership in an operational healthcare environment, with responsibility for management of large teams and budgets.
  • Proven track record in developing processes and procedures to deliver efficiencies across a complex operational structures.
  • Significant experience and track record of developing strategy and implementing change for complex organisations.
