Job summary

Interventional Psychiatry Service in Oxford is looking for two highly motivated, skilled, flexible nurses to join the team caring for patients receiving Electro-convulsive Therapy (ECT), Ketamine, and rTMS therapy. This treatments are vital for patients suffering with treatment-resistant depression and can really make a different to their lives. We are looking for enthusiastic, driven team players, with excellent communication and organisational skills to join our friendly team.

The service currently provides:

  • ECT treatment on Tuesdays and Fridays mornings (2-10 patients)
  • Ketamine treatment to Oxfordshire patients on Tuesdays and Fridays (3-6 patients)
  • NHS Self-funded ketamine treatment on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays (24 patients) .
  • rTMS treatment to Oxfordshire patients and self funded treatment on Mondays - Fridays

Main duties of the job

To provide and deliver high quality care for named patients receiving ECT treatment to agreed practice guidelines in line with ECT accreditation service (ECTAS) standards.

To assess, plan, implement and evaluate care to patients and carers.

To provide clinical care working within a person cantered model, assisting and liaising with clinical and referring teams involved in clinical management of patients.

To contribute to the development and maintenance of ECTAS standards as part of the nursing team.

To work flexibly across both ECT and ketamine clinics as required.

  • Demonstrates an awareness of clinical care management of patients undergoing intravenous infusion, anaesthesia, & ECT treatment.

  • Evidence of good IT skills.

Desirable

  • Phlebotomy and ECG skills.
