We are looking for a Social Worker to join the Adult Community Eating Disorder (ACED) team in Oxford.
We are passionate about what we do and will be looking for someone who can join an 'up and coming' community team which is in the process of developing a new service model to address the needs of the people of Oxfordshire in the 21st century. We are moving towards the development of a life span service and have good links with colleagues in the Child and Adolescent Eating Disorders Services as well as other Adult Community Eating Disorder services across the Thames Valley region.

Main duties of the job
The main components of the role will be to work within the Adult Community Eating Disorder service (ACEDS) providing social care expertise and care coordination and to ensure that all service users within the ACED service have a full assessment of their Care and Support needs under the Care Act 2014 and that support planning takes place to meet these needs. This will include providing expertise for Specialist Eating Disorder inpatient staff with regards to Adult and Children's Safeguarding responsibilities and section 117 aftercare planning.
You will need to identify and address any barriers to promoting a social model of mental disorder in partnership with the Service User, their family and support network, and the multi-disciplinary ACEDS. You will also provide expertise with regards to application of the Mental Capacity Act and Mental Health Act within the ACEDS.
You will need to demonstrate the skills and aptitude to maintain their Social Work professional identity when working within a multi-disciplinary team.

The Adult Community Eating Disorder team is a multi-disciplinary team comprised of Clinical Psychologists, Psychiatrists, Nursing staff, Dietitians, Assistant Psychologists, Community Support Workers and team Administrators.
The service provides an integrated formulation-based model tailored to the needs of adults with a primary diagnosis of an eating disorder as well as those with co-morbid mental health problems and their carers. We offer a range of evidence-based treatments for eating disorders and deliver these within the community.
The service offers excellent opportunities for supervision, service development, service evaluation and research, teaching and training including CBT-e. We have good supervision and operational structures and an excellent track record of CPD, as well as good links with Oxford University and Oxford Brookes. The service is also committed to evidence-based and evidence generating practice and you will have the opportunity to be part of service evaluation and Quality Improvement.

The post is based at the Warneford Hospital, Oxford but we provide a service across the whole of Oxfordshire. Our service provides a stepped-care model tailored to the needs of adults with a primary diagnosis of an eating disorder as well as those with co-morbid mental health problems and their carers. We offer a range of evidence-based treatments for eating disorders and deliver these within the community.
Applicants must have a full valid driving licence and access to a car for work, if necessary adjustments can be considered in line with the Equality Act 2010.
The service operates 5 days per week Monday to Friday 9am-5pm.
