Job summary

This role is an excellent opportunity to provide high quality mental health care to people living in Banbury and surrounding villages. Holding a varied caseload with support from the MDT, you will assess and engage patients in various aspects of improving their mental health, including psycho-education, improving social inclusion, occupational performance and supporting families and carers. As well as engaging in your own supervision, you will be expected to contribute to education of others, including students of various professional backgrounds.

Main duties of the job

You will be a qualified mental health nurse or occupational therapist with mental health experience: community experience is desirable, but this role is also suitable for those with inpatient experience wishing to broaden their skills. You will be able to engage with patients of various backgrounds to support them in maintaining and improving their mental health using evidence based interventions.

About us

The North and West Adult Mental Health Team has two bases: Banbury and Witney. We are looking for clinicians who will be based at the Elms in Banbury, a short distance from J11 of the M40. The team in Banbury has a reputation for being friendly and supportive, with a strong emphasis on wellbeing and a good work life balance. Staff have a range of experience and backgrounds and are willing to share their skills as well as seeking out knowledge and ideas of colleagues. Supervision and the PDR process plays an important part of supporting and developing staff. Staff have a passion for delivering a high quality service, made possible by a strong sense of professional duty but also caring for each other, along with a good sense of humour!
