We are looking for an experienced manager of mental health care services to join our urgent care teams as Service Manager.
The post involves working across a wide range of mental health urgent care services providing senior operational management and leadership. Crucially, the post involves working with a number of system partners (acute Trust, Police, Ambulance, 3rd sector) and the postholder will be skilled in forming and maintaining effective working relations across the local system and beyond.
The post will suit an innovate and creative thinker who can continually identify opportunities for service development and improvement, involving service users and other stakeholders at each step. Mental health crisis care continues to be an area of significant growth and expansion with genuine opportunity for the post holder to influence (in conjunction with others) the shape and quality of the overall service offer. The work is dynamic, stimulating and rewarding.

Main duties of the job
- Operational Management and leadership of all MH urgent care services
- Liaison and proactive development/improvement work with partner agencies
- Oversight of key governance and operational tasks (quality, safety, HR/workforce, finance, data, performance)
- The post holder must have a professional qualification in a relevant MH discipline (e.g. RMN, OT, Social Work)
- Service development and quality improvement; change management
- Service user involvement and co-production
- Line management of Managers and teams
- Collaborative working with other managers, key departmental leads and clinical/professional leads from within the Trust and external to the Trust

We now have a broad range of services working in close conjunction with other parts of the urgent and emergency care system, ensuring that wherever and whenever a person presents in crisis there are skilled and compassionate mental health clinicians available to meet their needs.

We are currently establishing a full fidelity to model Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Team with a 3 year phased plan in place. The establishment of this service is a key objective for the Directorate and will support enhanced patient experience and flow improvements within both inpatient and community services. The post holder will be able to demonstrate through application and interview that they are an experienced and compassionate leader who has the drive to make a difference and enable the teams to reach their full potential and more. In return, we provide supervision, support, and a wide range of development opportunities aligned to the post holders development needs.

The post holder must hold professional qualification relevant to mental health.
The post requires travel between bases countywide.
As a key operational role, the post holder must be able and willing to attend sites and team bases. Some remote working can be built into the job plan.

- New starters have a 6 month probationary period. This, together with the induction process aims to create a positive supportive working environment allowing new employees to learn key elements of their role over a reasonable timescale.
