Clinical Lead Physiotherapist (Learning Disability)

Due to an internal promotion, we are looking for a positive minded clinician to lead our community Learning Disability physiotherapy team across Oxfordshire. Our ideal candidate will have experience working in learning disability or a related field and be able to provide holistic physiotherapeutic management across a range of diverse and complex health presentations. They will also be ready to expand on their leadership qualities, educational skills and quality improvement project work as they take on a more senior role.

To provide line management and leadership to the Learning Disability physiotherapy team, thus providing an effective physiotherapy service that meets service user needs
To hold a direct caseload and deliver specialist, evidence based physiotherapy management to people with a learning disability and a range of diverse and complex health conditions including case co-ordination of health needs
To work collaboratively and communicate effectively within and across the Learning Disability teams, Oxford Health services and the wider health and social care landscape
To support the learning needs of the physiotherapy team by promoting an environment of independent learning, reflection and evaluation
To participate in and contribute to all aspects of clinical governance, and physiotherapy and service wide developmental projects
About us
Currently within our team we have 4 physiotherapy posts (1X rotational B5, 2X B6, 1X B7). For our senior leadership we have an AHP Professional Lead, Team managers, Nurse Consultant, Psychology Professional Lead, Operational Manager and Associate Clinical Director/Acting Service Director.
Our multi-disciplinary teams are made up of LD nurses, speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, psychologists and psychiatrists.

Job responsibilities
The physiotherapy clinical lead will be part of the Learning Disability teams providing a specialist physiotherapy service for adults with a learning disability living in the community across Oxfordshire. They will provide leadership to the LD physiotherapy team and be involved with several service development projects at a senior level.
This post will be suitable for an experienced physiotherapist who has knowledge of and interest in posture management, respiratory health and long term condition management. They will be passionate about the health of people with a learning disability, committed to multi-disciplinary team working, have a holistic mind set and proactive in taking up service development opportunities.
Caseload may be across the county with flexibility for non-clinical work from home. As this is a community role you must be a car driver and hold a full UK driving license.
You will have access to regular clinical supervision from a physiotherapy trained AHP Lead who is experienced in the management of complex physical disability as well as operational supervision and appropriate CPD opportunities.
