The South Oxfordshire Community Mental Health Team for Older Adults is looking for experienced and enthusiastic mental health nurses and occupational therapists to come and join our friendly and supportive team.
Our team covers a large geographical area bordering Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Wiltshire and so is ideally placed for staff commuting from Swindon, Reading and Aylesbury.
We are a proactive team with a culture of high standards of care and any successful applicant will need to be committed to maintaining this. Aimed at delivering well-coordinated patient care the team works closely with a wide range of other services in Primary, Secondary and Social Care.
The MDT is made up of Medical, Nursing, Occupational Therapy and Psychology colleagues and we highly regard one another's professional background and contribution to the care of our patients.
The team's primary base is at Abingdon Community Hospital with additional offices in Wallingford and Thame Community Hospitals. This role will be based from either Abingdon or Wallingford following discussion with the candidate.
Main duties of the job
Working as part of our multi-disciplinary team you will be expected to offer assessments and interventions to our patient group of older adults with mental health needs. You will manage a caseload of patients with a variety of mental health conditions both functional and organic as well as supporting our duty and triage function.
You will need to be organised, flexible and committed to delivering the highest possible care to our client group. Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as good lT skills are essential.
Ideally you will have experience of working in older adult mental health services and understand the challenges that working with this client group brings. However, if you have transferrable skills and are motivated to learn about our client group we would encourage you to apply.

Core working hours are Monday-Friday 09:00-17:00. Out-of-hours support services are managed via a team rota. Staff will be expected to work on this rota which includes occasional weekend 09:00-17:00 shifts and evening shifts in the week between 17:00-20:00.
