Job summary
Join our new team of doctors working to improve the Urgent Care Pathways across Oxfordshire.
Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust is looking for a GP to lead our First Contact and Primary Care (FCPC) pathway.
The Medical Pathway Lead is an important and responsible role in our senior Directorate team that will require you to oversee a pathway area containing a related suite of services but primarily the GP Out of Hours service (OoHs) in Oxfordshire - the largest service within this pathway.
Main duties of the job
The role will require you to lead and implement change, working with senior clinical and operational colleagues to review, redesign, integrate and continually improve the overall care pathway, in partnership with health, social care and voluntary sector partners in Oxfordshire and BOB ICS (Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire West Integrated Care System). Working closely with these partners, you will play a central role in steering how we provide care in the future, to better meet the needs of the population.
As a currently practising GP, you will be aware of the significant challenges currently facing the NHS and you may have already considered the development of new models of care and service delivery - we are keen to discuss these with you! This is a brilliant opportunity to make effective change and be part of that senior leadership team working together on new ideas and playing an integral role in our ambitious service transformation programme that will provide even better care for patients and families.
We are interested in hearing from enthusiastic and motivated GPs with relevant skills and experience, that are looking for a part-time role to develop or reinvigorate their career and adding interest and variety to their working week.
About us
We welcome interest and applications from GPs already working in Oxfordshire or those considering re-location to the area or one of our neighbouring counties. We are also happy to discuss individual circumstances and consider suitability of alternative working plans
In addition, this role comes with the following benefits:
- Competitive salary plus NHS pension and employment benefits (GP pathway lead rate of £108,458 FTE)
- Mix of on-site and remote working, with flexibility around days of work
- Opportunities to take on additional sessional (face to face and remote) work within our services and supplement income
- Opportunities for teaching and mentoring clinical staff, for personal development and for working across our other clinical services if desired
- Opportunities to undertake Quality Improvement, research and other innovation projects, with strong academic links to the two Oxford Universities
- Strong support from the senior management team
- Generous annual leave
