Job summary

We are seeking to recruit an Peripatetic Senior Occupational Therapist to join our Community Hospital team, where you will be part of a great team, working alongside our Allied Healthcare and Nursing Professionals to provide the highest standard of patient centre-care.

You must be highly motivated, enthusiastic with excellent interpersonal skills and have a passion for wanting to make a difference in therapeutic therapy to help aid our patients' recovery. With support and clinical supervision from the Clinical Lead, you will have opportunities to develop your clinical therapy skills.

You will be working closely within the therapy team and wider MDT members on the inpatient ward, to provide rehabilitation for our patients, who are mainly older with a wide variety of health conditions admitted from acute care, GP or community. You will manage a full clinical caseload providing timely assessments and care planning.

This role involves all elements of inpatient rehabilitation from initial assessments through to discharge and may include some follow up. You will be part of providing interventions in personal care, kitchen assessments, access visits, home visits and therapy discharges.

The starting post will be at City Community Hospital, however you will need to work or travel to another of our Community Hospital sites, therefore a flexible approach to working is essential.

Main duties of the job

To work within a generic or specialist rehabilitation team managing a caseload of clients providing a high quality, appropriate cost effective and efficient intensive rehabilitation service for adult patients in Oxfordshire outside of acute care empowering clients to manage their conditions effectively and maximise their potential to reach their goals of self management, access to their environment and return to previous occupations and involvement in the community.
