Job summary

An exciting opportunity and new role have arisen for a compassionate senior Leader to join our Quality and Risk Corporate team in the role of Head of Patient and Carer Experience.

Main duties of the job

This role will be pivotal in supporting the delivery of the Trust's 3-year strategy on Patient /Carer involvement, engagement, and experience of our services:

Working closely with the Deputy director of Quality, Patient experience & involvement team, complaints & PALS team, Patient safety and Governance Team.

The post holder will lead the Trust strategies in relation to patient and carer experience, involvement and engagement with focus on co-production at all levels within the Trust.

Essential

  • Knowledge and experience of governance, management and financial Management.
  • In depth knowledge of policy and strategy relating to the development of service user and carer initiatives and experience of its effective implementation.
  • A thorough knowledge of policy and the targets to be met.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of experience, engagement and the strategies available to involve those who use our services and their families/carers.
  • Knowledge of how to identify and bring examples of best practice and patient and carer experience and improvement activities from other NHS and non-NHS organisations.
  • Knowledge of quality improvement and risk management.
  • Knowledge of Research and Development framework.

Qualifications - Academic/Skills/Professional

Essential

  • Master's Degree level or equivalent experience through work-based learning.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development.
  • Professional Qualification in the fields of Mental Health/Learning Disabilities/Community care
  • Current registration with a UK professional body.

Desirable

  • Current registration with a UK professional body.
  • Training in Root Cause Analysis
