Job summary

Are you looking to expand your knowledge and skills in the area of people management whilst retaining leadership and direction in clinical podiatry?

This Team Leader role could be for you!

We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced podiatrist with a passion to develop both the profession and the staff you will be line managing.

Main duties of the job

As the Podiatry Team Leader you will demonstrate clinical leadership, monitor staff and help with team develop. You will be expected to identify the need for local podiatry services, evaluate, priorities and plan provision accordingly, within contractual agreements.

You will promote and develop the reputation of the podiatry department by acting as a link to Primary Health Care Teams and Clinical Commissioning Groups.

  • BSc Podiatry
  • Evidence of CPD - both clinical and service development/leadership

Desirable

  • Prescriber status or evidence of understanding of relevant common prescription medicines

Knowledge & Expereince

Essential

  • Appropriate/Sufficient post-graduate NHS work experience including management/leadership experience
  • Staff supervision /management
  • Evidence of highly specialised treatment planning/patient management
  • Teaching/training of colleagues/students/health care professionals/patients/public

Desirable

  • Awareness of budget management

People Skills

Essential

  • Self-motivated - seeking to improve service delivery, reading research papers, up to date with broad clinical and political professional developments
  • Empathetic approach to the personal circumstances of staff and patients
  • Ability to work under the pressures of demanding & competing priorities
