Job summary

Are you a psychology graduate looking to further your career? Are you enthusiastic, dedicated and hard working? Do you have experience of working in a mental health setting?

We are looking for an Assistant Psychologist to join the Buckinghamshire Talking Therapies (BTT); an established Talking Therapies service in Buckinghamshire. You will play an important role in being the first point of contact for patients accessing the service, providing assessment appointments alongside co-facilitating evidence based low intensity treatment interventions.

Main duties of the job

You will be required to support the administrative team with making and receiving phone calls to/from clients as well as supporting with other ad-hoc tasks during critical periods. You will also support various work-streams within BTT through evaluation, audits and research.

BTT has a large psychological team of qualified, trainee and senior clinicians who are encouraged to cultivate their creativity and passion in their role. We encourage our staff to be involved in the development of Step 2 and Step 3 methods and modes of delivery. We are a centre of innovation, leading in the delivery of a variety of psychological interventions.

  • An upper second class honors degree or higher in psychology.

Desirable

  • Further post graduate training in relevant areas of professional psychology, mental health practice and/or research design and analysis.

Experience

  • Work with people with mental health problems and/or other disabilities specifically anxiety and depression.

Desirable

  • Experience of paid work providing direct care provision

Knowledge

Essential

  • Able to develop effective therapeutic alliances, communicate and explore sensitive information with service users.
  • Able to interact well within multidisciplinary teams
  • High level of written communication skills / report writing

  • Evidence of reflective use of supervision
  • Experience and skill with research/data entry/analysis
