Due to new funding from the Provider Collaborative, we are seeking to recruit a full time Band 5 Occupational Therapist, to join the newly established Specialist Community Forensic Team within the location of Oxfordshire, providing Occupational Therapy interventions working closely with senior OT's patients, carers, MDT and external agencies (Prison, Police, MAPPA, Housing Provider, Probation). This also includes in-patient services into the community.
You will use standardised Occupational Therapy assessments to identify needs, to plan and implement individualised Occupational Therapy interventions. Including, co-facilitation of Psycho-educational groups/sessions, contribute to robust risk assessments and devise occupational therapy formulations.
The post holder will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team providing high provision of care, transition into the community, therapeutic interventions and treatment to Thames Valley Forensic Services clients.
This role includes RSU Allowance of £1,446 per annum on top of your salary.
Main duties of the job
- To be responsible for the planning and delivery of Occupational Therapy interventions, prioritizing clinical needs to provide an effective service and input to the Specialist Forensic Community Team.
- To ensure timely assessments meeting service requirement.
- To develop links with community-based resources to promote social inclusion and recovery.
- As part of individual's identified treatment interventions, the OT will regularly liaise with outside services and agencies e.g., supported work projects, adult education.
- To liaise closely with the Occupational Therapists on the in-patient wards to support transition of care to the community.
- Demonstrate and develop relational security skills for the purpose of robust risk assessment and management.
- To work closely with a range of agencies including, Ministry of Justice, probation, Victim Liaison Service, CMHTS and others to ensure there is a high standard of multi-agency working and that this is represented within a service user's treatment plan and care pathway.
- Provide supervision and support as required to other team members.
- To support practice placement supervision of Occupational Therapy students, following appropriate training.
