Job summary

Melksham CAMHS are excited to be able to recruit a Senior Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (SPWP) to join the busy and high preforming CAMHS and wider CWP team. This role would be a great opportunity for qualified PWPs with post qualification experience and/or CMS supervisory experience, who are committed to this model, and want to develop their career in the low intensity service.

There has been a recent investment in BSW into the role of CWP and SWP and we are keen to recruit into this post to support and extend the low intensity provision for CYP in our area. This includes the exciting prospect of scoping, developing and running groups, working alongside our partners in the community, developing and offering training, contributing to effective evaluation of service as well as supervising our CWPs and carrying a caseload. There is a clinical psychologist overseeing these developments and you will link closely with them and the other SWPs/LI supervisors to think creatively about future developments of the service.

We are keen to recruit someone with the Low intensity supervision course, but we are also interested in any CWP/EMHP who may want to develop into this role. We have applied for a place on the SWP course at Reading university starting March 2024 to support the relevant training for anyone wanting to develop. We can also use this training space for anyone with LI supervision qualification who would like to attend the second year of enhanced clinical skills.

Main duties of the job

This role involves case managing a group of PWPs to ensure the quality of their work is maintained, facilitating clinical skills supervision and line managing some trainee or qualified PWPs.

The post-holder will also offer high volume evidence-based practice in Guided Self-help (Telephone, Digital or Face to Face) and contribute to the Psycho-educational Courses programme, working with people with common mental health problems. You could also be involved in other workstreams or projects such as digital interventions and increasing access for people to mental health support.
