Our supportive Oxford City Adult Mental Health Team is excited to offer a Band 7 Deputy Team Manager post in Willow team.
The City and Northeast Oxon Adult Mental Health Team's main base is at the Warneford Hospital, a stones throw from the centre of Oxford and the dreamy spires. The team is split into three Flexible Assertive Community Treatment (FACT) teams; Willow, Oak, and Aspen, which are aligned to local Primary Care Network patches. Willow provide care for the residents of Oxford and have good links with the two Universities with a high student population.
The City AMHT supports adults of working age (18-65) who experience a wide range of mental health conditions. We are committed to the person-centred recovery approach in all our clinical work and pride ourselves in offering a high-quality service reflected in our CQC rating of Good.
As the deputy team manager you will oversee the day to day running of the team. Willow team consists of a range of professionals including nurses, OT's, medics, social workers, support workers, peer support workers, psychological therapists and admin.
Main duties of the job
You will act as an advanced autonomous practitioner, demonstrating a high level of practice and knowledge during the supervision of junior staff and in direct evidenced based patient care; working as part of a multi- disciplinary team providing professional and clinical support in the care of patients.
Providing support within the team and acting as a role model and resource, you will work to encourage and develop a high standard of clinical skill in order to improve patient outcomes.
You will function in a variety of role dimensions: leader, health care provider, educator, researcher, clinical advocate and implementer of clinical governance. A wearer of many hats!
We use the principles of a flexible assertive community treatment (FACT) model of healthcare. We have incorporated FACT into the daily functioning of the team; which enables us to be focused on the recovery of the patient through a multidisciplinary (MDT) approach.
We have twice weekly MDT meetings, where we discuss clinical matters within our supportive team and we strive to provide person centered evidence based care to patients, where possible working collaboratively with their families and carers.

Willow Team is a wonderful team to work in and this role offers an opportunity to develop senior clinical and leadership skills. Naomi and Heather Team managers are committed to the wellbeing and development of the staff working in the team and offer opportunities to engage in training courses and develop senior clinical and leadership skills.
Your normal working week will be Monday to Friday 9:00-17:00, although this post includes duty manager shifts approx twice a month which will require working either an early (07:00 15:00 or a late shift (13:00 21:00) which can be any day of the week (Mon Sun). Other services run 24/7 and there may be a requirement to occasionally cover.
The post holder will work within the Adult Mental Health Team (AMHT) with responsibility for a Sub-team as Deputy Team Manager and a clinical lead.
As part of your role you will be on the duty senior rota for the AMHT, which involves close liaison with the patient flow team for those requiring inpatient admission. You will work within your professional scope of practice. Providing clinical leadership, managerial and clinical supervision and role modelling.
You will have proven abilities as a deputy manager in a variety of settings; this should include a strong understanding of recovery-based community approaches and leadership skills. The job role is very varied and offers the opportunity to champion the recovery of service users, whilst working alongside highly experienced and motivated colleagues.
