We are looking for an experienced Consultant Clinical/ Counselling Psychologist and Locality Lead to join our team. This is a key role for the continued development of psychological therapies within the integrated Adult Mental Health Teams (AMHTs) in Oxfordshire.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for an enthusiastic Clinical/Counselling Psychologist with extensive clinical experience, providing clinical leadership, service development, supervision and management.
You will work closely with other senior psychological therapists and the Clinical and Professional Lead to develop and deliver the service model in the South Oxfordshire AMHT.
You will hold a small clinical caseload and will essential services, which as offering clinical supervision and line management to psychological therapists within the locality.

In this role, you will be providing clinical leadership for psychological therapy within the locality Adult Mental Health Team (AMHT) and ensuring the systematic provision of high-quality evidence-based specialist psychological therapies to adults across the services within the locality. You will initiate and implement policy and service development changes within the locality as directed by the Professional & Clinical Lead for Adult and Older Adult Psychological Therapies and work with the AMHT Team Manager and key clinical staff in the locality team in the delivery of a stepped care approach to psychological therapies.
You'll play an essential role in providing clinical and professional supervision and support to other psychological therapy staff within the service as well as providing line management to psychological therapy staff, assistant psychologists and trainee psychological therapists.
You'll provide expert consultation, teaching and supervision for members of the integrated locality team, trainee therapists and other disciplines as agreed with the line manager.

Essential
- Post-graduate doctoral level training in clinical psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996) as accredited by the BPS, including specifically models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics and neuropsychology, two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology (or equivalent training in Counselling Psychology with evidence of specific experience of an adult client group and neuropsychology assessment skills).
- Post-doctoral training in one or more additional specialised areas of psychological practice
- Registration as a practitioner psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
- Training and experience in supervision of qualified staff.
