We are looking for an experienced physiotherapist who is passionate about ensuring parity of esteem and access to physiotherapy and supporting those with mental health distress and dementia to maintain their independence and functioning
In this role you will experience an interesting, challenging mix of managerial and clinically focused work.The mental health clinical lead physiotherapist role is key to delivering a safe,effective, evidence-basedspecialistphysiotherapyservice and you will be working across sites and teams ensuring the delivery of high-quality physiotherapy interventions. You will lead a large and committed team of physiotherapists and physiotherapy technical instructors (TI's) and be part of developing roles for physiotherapy apprentices in mental health.
Main duties of the job
You will be delivering highly specialist physiotherapy assessment and treatment to adults and older adult in our mental health inpatient wards. While supervising and coordinating a team of physiotherapists and physiotherapy technical instructors to deliver care across the mental health inpatient wards and hospitals based in Oxford.
A key aim will be to empower clients and their carers to make informed choices about their self-management and to participate in social, leisure and activities of daily living. Strong interpersonal skills are needed to work in close liaison with the client and their carers, both formal and informal. Some clients may have a range of communication and cognitive issues so problem solving and creativity is often key.
As part of the role you will get to work alongside a specialist and experienced multidisciplinary team. You will be supported by the AHP Lead for adult and older adult mental health and clinical supervision will be provide by AHP Lead for community professional Lead for Community Services who is professional lead for physiotherapy. Clinical work is a core component of this post, making this a great opportunity for someone who wants to gain experience in a leadership role, whilst retaining clinical duties.

Please Note:
- New starters have a 6 month probationary period. This, together with the induction process aims to create a positive supportive working environment allowing new employees to learn key elements of their role over a reasonable timescale.
- Candidates not currently employed by the Trust who attend an interview for non-qualified Band 1-5 posts are required to undertake numeracy and literacy assessments.
