Oxford Centre for Psychological Health

The Oxford Centre for Psychological Health is a unit within Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust closely linked to the University of Oxford and the Department of Experimental Psychology. Staff are employed on NHS contracts with access to University facilities. The centre comprises the Oxford Institute for Clinical Psychology Training and Research, Oxford Cognitive Therapy Centre and the Oxford Health Specialist Psychological Intervention Centre.

We are a fast-growing organisation which delivers training and clinical services from an evidence based perspective, and are seeking new staff to join our friendly and dynamic team based at the Warneford Hospital, Oxford (with some flexible working from home being possible). CBT and Systemic/Family therapy interests are strongly encouraged.

We would particularly welcome applications from candidates from minoritised backgrounds for these posts.

Main duties of the job

In collaboration with the Directors and the academic, research or clinical teams and particularly the BABCP lead, to plan, co-ordinate and monitor the CBT training activity of the doctoral course and the HEE funded CBT top up programme for supervisors to obtain BABCP accreditation. To contribute to the training, teaching and supervision as required.

To work closely with the Top up programme lead to ensure the smooth running of the clinical and academic work on that programme.

To ensure CBT competencies are delivered and assessed throughout the training of DClinPsy trainees.

For all trainees, coordinating and conducting supervision, case report marking and other activities contributing to BABCP accreditation.

If appropriate, to contribute clinical sessions to Oxford Health Specialist Psychological Intervention Centre (OHSPIC) in an identified area of specialization.

If appropriate, contribute to the work of the Oxford Cognitive Therapy Centre (OCTC).

  • oPost Graduate Qualification relevant to CBT including CBT Diplopma, Doctorate in Clinical or counselling Psychology or equivalent
  • oBABCP practitioner level accreditation

  • oAdvanced knowledge and understanding of the theoretical and empirical foundations that underpin the practice of CBT in the context of clinical psychology.
  • oExpertise in issues related to CBT supervision
  • oUnderstanding of academic standards and governance in relation to clinical training
  • oDoctoral level knowledge and skills in quantitative and qualitative research design and methodology, relevant to the field of CBT.
