The Intensive Support Team (IST) provides clinical support and resource to adults and children with a learning disability presenting with behaviours that challenge. The post holder would complement the work of the Community Learning Disability Team (CLDT) and Learning Disability Child and Adolescent Mental Health Team (CAMHS) and assess and develop strategies that reduce the need to communicate distress in maladaptive ways, within the framework of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) or Positive Behaviour Support (PBS).
We are looking to recruit a Band 7 (pending panel approval) behaviour specialist/ analyst to work in the IST and to bring your wealth of professional experience into the mix. You would be a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA), or working towards becoming a BCBA, or have master's level training in PBS and/ or ABA.

Main duties of the job
The IST is an all-age service supporting people with a learning disability and behaviours that aredescribed as challenging or complex to meet their health needs through specialist assessment, intervention, care, and support strategies. We specialise in supporting individuals at a difficult time in their lives, when this is shown through behaviours that challenge.
This role involves working in a multidisciplinary team, assessment of behavioural needs and implementation of strategies or recommendations for clients. This is in a variety of countywide settings, such as in clients' homes, day services, in the community, and in schools. You will also provide a variety of training to colleagues, families, carers, or staff.

Oxford Health Learning Disability Services support adults and children with learning disabilities in Oxfordshire to maintain good mental and physical health. We can support people with a learning disability whose health needs cannot be met by other health services in Oxfordshire.
You will have the opportunity to widen your knowledge through frequent learning opportunities, the responsibility of leading on specific clinical professional work, as well as behavioural case coordination underpinned by ABA and PBS, and contributing to wider LD Service needs and development. You will receive regular managerial, clinical, and occasional peer supervision, and will provide supervision to colleagues or students. - To undertake, coordinate and monitor, as an autonomous practitioner, the comprehensive functional assessment and delivery of person-centred healthcare and produce detailed behavioural assessment reports.
- To conduct assessments and observations, construct behaviour support plans and implement and evaluate these plans for service users.
- Utilise clinical skills and advanced clinical reasoning to recommend the best course of intervention, develop comprehensive Care Plans, oversee their implementation and evaluation and set the standards of care, assessment of care needs and their development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care within the locality using evidence-based practice.
- To work in partnership with senior colleagues and others to develop educational programmes in relation to Applied Behaviour Analysis and Positive Behaviour Support, for registered and unregistered health care professionals within the Intensive Support Team.
