Job summary

We are seeking for a dynamic, highly motivated individual as a Senior Anaesthetic Practitioner to join our team at Main Theatre, Northampton General Hospital. We have six theatres in Main Theatre and four peripheral areas covering various speciality theatres like General Surgery, Urology, Breast, Gynaecology, Vascular, Emergency Theatre, Robotic cases, Max Fax, ENT, Paediatric, Interventional Radiology, etc..

You must have sound Anaesthetic experience as you will be working clinically as per the job description. You will be expected to take up management responsibilities depending on the operational needs and deputise for the managers in their absence. You will have management and leadership responsibilities where you will assist the management team in implementing change projects within the departments to enhance patient care and positive patient experiences.

You must have excellent communication and negotiation skills and be able to lead by example. The successful individual will have a pivotal role in delivering Trust Objectives and ensuring that the care delivered within this specialty reflects the Trust Vision and Values. The post holder will also play an integral part in proving positive mentoring, development and training of junior staff and students.

Main duties of the job

Working clinically on anaesthetics, providing high standards of quality care to all patients.

Consider ways to improve processes within the department to improve patient care and cost saving ideas.

Able to Coordinate the theatre and the emergency theatre when required, and working to ensure all aspects of the coordinators checklist are completed daily.

Take responsibility for the development of junior staff and students by supporting their placements

Perform task as per the assigned management responsibility and work closely with the management team.

Above all, be a positive role model, lead by example and behave in an open and inclusive manner to all the members of the team.
