Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our forward-thinking gastroenterology team within University Hospitals of Northamptonshire NHS Group. Based at Northampton General Hospital, this role offers the chance to shape services across a modern, integrated trust.
You'll be part of a supportive, collaborative consultant body, with access to development opportunities and a strong focus on delivering high-quality care across both sites.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will join a team of 8 consultant gastroenterologists, working collaboratively to provide specialist care while support service development and individual interests.
The role includes inpatient care on a 30-bed gastroenterology ward, outpatient clinics, endoscopy sessions, and contribution to the emergency endoscopy rota. The post is supported by resident doctors, specialist registrars, and a clinical fellow. Consultants typically rotate onto the ward for 10 - 12 weeks per year and participate in a 10 PA job plan, including clinics, endoscopy, ward rounds, and SPA time.
