This job is now closed

Job summary

The post would suit a urologist who is looking for clinical experience and to develop their portfolio in a supportive environment. The department has a strong recent tradition of trust grade doctors being successful in urology ST3 national selection. More senior candidates would also be considered. The department has supported senior trust grade registrars through the FRCS Urol and CESR pathways. Prior NHS experience is essential.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will assist the department in the delivery of elective and non-elective urology including outpatient clinics, diagnostics and core urology procedures. The candidate would obtain exposure in core urology, PCNLs, robotic prostatectomy, brachytherapy, laparoscopic nephrectomy, urolift, HOLEP and flexible ureterorenoscopy and laser.

There would also be opportunities for the candidate to become involved in clinical research, quality improvement projects and audits. All registrars are also encouraged to become involved in departmental and undergraduate teaching.

The department has enhanced services for emergency urological admissions with the development of a 1 in 6 non-resident middle grade urology on-call rota and a supporting urology SHO equivalent during working hours.
