Job summary
Applications are warmly invited for a substantive consultant as part of the expansion of our University Hospitals of Northamptonshire Orthodontic Service.
You will join our team of 4 Orthodontic Consultants working across UHL working with ourMaxillofacial colleagues and laboratory colleagues, treating patients across hospital sites in Northamptonshire.
As part of the Orthodontic Team you will be supported in all aspects of the role, but you will also support, coach and impart your knowledge and experience to your team.
The department has close teaching and training links to the East Midlands Deanery for DCTs, and has an orthodontic speciality trainees working within the team, as well as therapists and laboratory colleagues at both sites.

Main duties of the job
- Flexibility: The department are delighted to consider candidates who would prefer a less than 10PA contract, and flexible working is supported.
- Timetable: The timetable will involve a regular commitment to routine secondary care orthodontic clinics, as well as fortnightly joint orthognathic clinics
- Teaching: Our proximity to London and Birmingham (1hour) means we train a London Orthodontic StR, and regularly host and attend national study meetings

- Success in Intercollegiate Specialty Examination or equivalent or within 6 months of completion of post CCST training.
