Job summary
To provide comprehensive, efficient and confidential secretary service to Consultants, medical staff and their teams. The post holder will work for an extremely busy Consultant and their team, providing support and cover to team members as requires. The specialities covered will be corneal and diabetic

Main duties of the job
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Medical Secretary to join the Ophthalmology department at Northampton General Hospital.
We are a very busy and friendly team and are looking to engage an experienced Medical Secretary with sound secretarial and excellent typing and interpersonal skills to take on this busy and varied post.
The successful applicant will become an integral part of an efficient team providing secretarial support to consultants within the Department.
A sound knowledge of medical terminology and experience in the use of hospital based IT systems would be an advantage as well as an understanding of patient pathways.
Excellent organisation and diary management skills are essential for this post.
