Job summary
This is a hybrid position combining on-site and home working as required.
Interviews will be face to face at the Northampton site.
The Systems Analyst/Developer will support, create and populate data models, data marts, data warehouses and their maintenance to enable Health Intelligence to provide effective decision support and enable strategic planning.
The post holder will require experience in data warehouses, data marts and OLAP models together with a working knowledge and experience of ETL design, development and testing. Additionally, the post holder will require experience of stakeholder engagement and technical requirement engineering for data warehousing.
This is a backend role as well as a stakeholder engagement role that brings together the data needs for all respective data domains along their conformed dimensional designs to enable the eventual build of an enterprise data warehouse. It is expected that the postholder will learn and adopt new data warehousing methods as deemed appropriate and beneficial for the group.
Main duties of the job
One of the postholder's primary responsibilities will be to support the population of data models to support the analytic/insight needs of the group. It is therefore expected that the post holder will work in conjunction with colleagues cross the team to transform business requirements into technical concepts so that effective data models can be built to serve the analytic/insight needs of the group.
This will involve integrating data from many disparate sources while implementing best of breed design principles to capture and store the data for expedient analysis and future reporting. This function is an evolving function and it is not expected that all requirements will be documented upfront.
The postholder will be expected to follow through on good governance around change control. Additionally, change control guidance will need to be rigorously adhered to ensure that existing reports and analysis do not incur unintentional detrimental consequences as a result of any change initiatives/improvements. It is expected that the postholder will have some experience/exposure in identifying analytics and reporting dependencies within any existing data structure.
