We are pleased to be able to offer an exciting opportunity to join the Electronic Patient Record (EPR) Programme Team at Northampton General Hospital. In partnership with our chosen supplier, we have embarked on our digital excellence journey to implement a nationally-leading EPR system that will transform the quality of care for our patients and staff by having instantly accessible information using the latest mobile technology, reducing paper usage and utilising clinical decision support tools.

The Digital Clinical Leads will work as part of a dynamic Chief Clinical Information Officer team. The role is responsible for supporting digital transformation for new digital solutions and upgrades to existing digital solutions across the Trust with clear collaboration with internal and external stakeholders as required. The postholder will have an understanding of digital systems and will support the efficient and effective management of the on-going EPR development, education, implementation and training of our NGH EPR.

We are seeking Digital Clinical Leads as follows:

  • 1 x Nurse
  • 1 x AHP
  • 1 x Digital Medicines (Pharmacy Professional)

Main duties of the job

The role is responsible for operating as a key member of the Chief Clinical Information Officer portfolio which focuses on ensuring there is clinical engagement at all levels of the Group Digital Strategy. The postholder will promote and lead delivery of effective, safe clinical systems with all groups of clinical, administrative and operational staff.

The Digital Clinical Leads will work with multi-professional teams on improving patient care by leading audits, research and benefits realisation data collection, analysis and subsequent improvements to our processes.

The postholder will lead engagement with end users to ensure clear documentation of current state processes and subsequent future state processes and participate in clinical hazard workshops as required. They will work with members of the multidisciplinary team within the hospitals and at community venues, including all clinical colleagues, operational colleagues, administrative personnel and all teams within Digital and the EPR Programme.
