Job summary
Our Medical Equipment Library manages in excess of 2000 medical devices. We are looking for an organised, proactive and resourceful team leader to lead this service and to support the wider Clinical Engineering service within the Trust.
Main duties of the job
Contribute to the asset management of medical devices and associated stock in multiple locations.
Supervise day to day work of Medical Equipment Library colleagues and ensure operations run smoothly and efficiently.
Play a leadership role in the area of medical equipment decontamination, ensuring guidelines and manufacturers recommendations are followed, and any decontamination issues are promptly reported and escalated if necessary.
Collect and deliver medical equipment, accessories, and consumables.
Communicate with differing levels of staff in relation to the supply or removal of equipment. Traveling to offsite locations in the delivery of duties.
Process and record orders and rental requisitions, including loans, through the useof a dedicated database and direct communication with suppliers.

Job responsibilities
Determine requirements with clinical staff and plan review meetings to ensure that minimum and maximum equipment levels and regularity of use are determined andmaintained.
Obtain information from suppliers in relation to quotes, delivery commitments andtimescales. Analyse and present information to customers and suppliers.
Organise and oversee evaluations and clinical trials in conjunction with the Electro Biomedical colleagues.
Carry out maintenance, safety testing and performance verification following setprocedures for low-risk medical equipment. Where requested, carry out and/orarrange for the proper cleaning of medical devices.
Check equipment for validity of service by checking labels and equipment integrity,organising repairs and services where required.
Receive and deliver equipment accessory and consumable stock.
Manage stocks and invoices for accuracy ensuring that discrepancies in stock receipts are dealt with through appropriate channels.
Manages lost, damaged, and returned equipment with suppliers.
Contribute to the Trusts incident investigations and the sharing of lessons learnt asinstructed by the Trusts Medical Devices Safety Officer.
Manage equipment store locations to ensure provision of service by reviewing andmonitoring stock levels on a daily basis.
Resolve ad hoc equipment management issues, within own remit, as they arise.
Maintain accurate written and electronic asset data and provide information onrequests to colleagues.
Ensure that there is sufficient equipment to meet patient needs, available at all times and kept in full working order.
Ensure own professional development is maintained, keeping abreast of developments in medical devices issues, including attending external meetings, seminars and conferences.
Undertake other duties and tasks, which may arise, and may reasonably be deemed to come within the scope of the post.
Participate in rostered on-call or shift system as required to deliver an effective library and training service.
