Job summary
A great opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced Senior OD Consultant to join our OD team at UHN.
The successful candidate will be instrumental in undertaking strategic responsibilities as well as interventional work to support us at UHN to continue to develop and build our collaborative and implement a robust programme of Organisational Development and Design.
In line with the overarching UHN priorities, contribute to the development of the UHN OD and Inclusion strategy and lead the local implementation to secure improvements in performance, behaviour and engagement.
Responsible for supporting managers and leaders in implementing effective change management processes and support an ethos of continuous improvement.
Provide diagnostics to services and teams, including taking actions through to delivery and ensuring appropriate measurement of interventions, to enable leaders to create the environment and culture in which individual and team performance is enhanced and valued.
Contribute to the development and embedding of the UHN values and lead local delivery of work to embed organisational values and shape a culture where these are authentic and observed.
Main duties of the job
Contribute to the development and implementation of the UHN Organisational Development and inclusion strategy that improves business performance.
Identify and implement initiatives to support the delivery of the UHN People Plan, ensuring consistency across UHN.
Contribute to the development and embedding of the UHN values and their local implementation.
Facilitate teams and coach individuals to support delivery of the UHN transformation, quality improvement and efficiency programme.
Leads the OD support to clinical and non-clinical collaboration
Provide support to teams and individuals experiencing difficulties e.g. behavioural /teamwork/ conflict resolution.
In conjunction with the HRBP team and the H&WB team to highlight to the Head of OD & Inclusion areas of concern and identify appropriate interventions to resolve the issues.
Monitor progress and identifies new interventions where appropriate.
Design, develop and deliver training programmes and give presentations on organisational development interventions, skills, methodology and outcomes.
Ensure that vision, values and leadership behaviours are effectively communicated and embedded into the organisation culture and ways of working.
Consult stakeholders on organisational development plans and lead implementation as appropriate.
To participate in committees and act on behalf of the Head of OD & Inclusion as and when required.
Produce reports as and when required.

Staff Engagement
Work with the relevant Head of Communications and Engagement to implement the Trust employee engagement strategy ensuring outcomes deliver for staff and for patients.
To communicate and directly engage with staff to seek their participation and involvement with trust wide organisational development and staff engagement strategies.
Provide specialist staff engagement expertise service areas the people/human dimensions of change.
Support the effective implementation of the national staff survey by suggesting the best methods for maximising completion, driving the same and responding as needed.
Identify appropriate responses to the staff survey and enable the implementation through local management.
Work with the communications and engagement team to develop and implement ways to stay in touch with staff e.g. pulse surveys, listening events.
Contribute to the development and implementation of recognition plans based on intelligence gathered during the course of activities.
Leadership and Management DevelopmentIdentify the needs for leadership and management development, assess the appropriate response, design the relevant programmes, deliver the programmes where appropriate or work in partnership with the Learning and Education team/external suppliers
