Job summary

Integrated Surgery are looking for a friendly, hardworking and enthusiastic person to join our Admissions Team as an Inpatient Waiting List Coordinator.

You will need strong organisation and communication skills and must be able to demonstrate experience of working under pressure and to tight deadlines.

Main duties of the job

You will be responsible for booking patient dates for their operations and ensuring that all clinical activity is recorded accurately.

Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills will be required for this post, as you will be expected to communicate well with patients and all levels of staff.

There may also be a requirement for you to cover the reception area, at times.

Job description

Job responsibilities

Assist with the effective management of patient pathways by ensuring that all necessary surgical admission appointments are arranged on time, preoperative and diagnostics tests are processed as requested and that patients receive timely treatment, thus meeting the Trust and national standards.

Assist with the coordination of theatre lists to ensure effective time management and maximum theatre capacity utilisation, working with your named consultant teams.

Assist the process of patient tracking and validation by ensuring the relevant databases and patient information systems are up to date.

Ensure patients notes are correctly completed with the patient details and accurate copies of investigative reports and correspondence are filed in medical records case notes, following laid down guidelines.

Prepare and collate statistical information as required and input to database if appropriate, in conjunction with Trust requirements.

Provide general administrative services including photocopying, filing and other office routines.

Ensure all correspondence and documentation is filed promptly and cross referenced whenever necessary.

Deal with enquiries on behalf of the Clinical Teams, within agreed limits, and take appropriate action.

Liaise with other hospital departments, GPs and other health care agencies when required.

Assist and help colleagues when the need arises and provide crosscover within the team during absence.
