In partnership with our chosen supplier, we have embarked on our digital excellence journey to implement a nationally-leading EPR system that will transform the quality of care for our patients and staff by having instantly accessible information using the latest mobile technology, reducing paper usage and utilising clinical decision support tools.

The PMO Analyst will support the delivery and implementation of the Electronic Patient Record (EPR) across the Trust. As part of a dynamic and agile team that is committed to our Vision 'Dedicated to Excellence', you will have significant personal opportunities to grow and develop, as well as to tangibly impact how care is delivered in the future.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will share the responsibility of identifying and recommending courses of action to support the success of projects, to establish clear planning, risk, issue and financial management and accountability arrangements.

The post holder is responsible for providing professional expertise around planning, dependencies and associated impact of change. They will lead and work alongside departmental teams working to understand and address user need ensuring successful and beneficial changes to their working practices.

The post holder will be competent with technology-enabled service re-design and service transformation. Experience of working with agile methodologies will be an advantage.

Travel to the hospital site will be required.

Key Deliverables

  • Co-ordinate the delivery of key workstreams across project(s), ensuring the successful delivery of each work package or sprint.
  • Take the lead on various work packages as directed by the PMO Lead, working to ensure each is planned and delivered in line with the overall project requirements.
  • Where required, lead and manage outright the delivery of smaller projects, ensuring that they do not have an adverse impact on patient care and quality.
  • Promote and practice project management methodologies such as Prince 2, Waterfall, agile and other methodologies as advised by Digital Transformation and Innovation Management in delivery of digital projects.
  • Prepare regular reports on performance, risk management and financial control.
  • Maintain project documentation ensuring all task updates, risks, issues and decisions are captured within the relevant project management tools.
  • Support the monitoring of project budgets and performance against budget, highlighting any variance accordingly.
  • Develop project artefacts in collaboration with operational teams, working to principles of Minimum Viable Bureaucracy.

  • Support with and prepare briefs, initiation documents and other documents required for the programme.
  • For your own work packages, be responsible for the management of milestone delivery, interdependency of deliverables, risks, mitigations, issues, change and configuration.
  • Maintain project risk and issue logs across project(s) as required.
  • Ensure every project or work package has an appropriately scoped plan with clear roles, responsibilities accountabilities and timescales for delivery.
  • Ensure each project or work package has the right team to support delivery; establishing clear agreed objectives; risk management, change management and benefits realisation metrics against which delivery can be monitored.
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crisis and devise contingency plans in conjunction with appropriate colleagues.
  • Develop and provide key operational management data and project reports, for review and use by the necessary Programme Board.

Job requirements

  • We support distributed and flexible working arrangements, however, subject to business needs, will be a requirement to travel to the Northampton Hospital site and other sites across the Group and ICS.
  • Frequent VDU use is required for this post for periods of up to 3 to 4 hours at a time in order to produce complex reports and analysis to support decision-making.
  • Standard keyboard skills.
  • Frequent concentration will be required on a wide variety of complex issues throughout the day.
  • The post holder will participate in and facilitate meetings, which require a high level of concentration, with a variety of audiences and mixtures of attendees.
