Plaster Technician post in Fracture clinic/outpatients
Fracture Clinic/ Outpatients service provides a service for Trauma & Orthopaedic patients
We are looking for an enthusiastic staff member who can be flexible, and hardworking to work in this busy environment. The applicant should be self-motivated and able to work as part of the team, also taking the incentive to problem solve.
We are looking for someone who has a passion working in this environment, and enjoys their work knowing they make a difference.
Previous Orthopaedics experience needed, such as working in plaster rooms for at least 2 years or more.
Providing the focal point of communication for, patients, medical and professional staff both within the Trust and with external organisations, you will oversee the patient pathway to ensure that all necessary appointments including outpatients, clinics.
You should have very good communication skills, both written and verbal, the ability to organise and prioritise your workload and be competent in the use of windows software.
Successful candidates must be able to work on their own initiative and maintain patient confidentiality and ensure a high standard of customer care at all times.This post would provide an excellent opportunity for a person looking for a new challenge in a friendly and busy hospital environment. Main duties of the job
Work in the plaster room to help with application of casts/removal of
supply and fit off the shelf braces, vacopeds, wrist splints
Attend theatre on occasion for hip spika's
wound reviews
maintaining stock levels/ordering
