Job summary
Orthopaedic Physiotherapy lead of the elective pathway team, managing a small MDT managing patients going through orthopaedic procedures throughout their journey from pre-op to post discharge. Job will have focus on all aspects of Orthopaedic care, including pathway development and working with relevant colleagues in the PCT

To support the Service Manager and Elective Consultant in Orthopaedic in development and provision of an effective, efficient and high quality service.
To work with Physiotherapy colleagues across the Primary care service in ensuring all protocols for Orthopaedic procedures are up to date using the latest evidence base.
To provide assessment and treatment of patients that have a range of Orthopaedic surgeries
To maintain an overview of all aspects of Orthopaedic for patients undergoing all elective surgery including joint replacement surgery.
To provide clinical expertise, participating in teaching, research and audit activities.
To manage and lead a team of staff by example and respond accordingly to the needs of patients and their families.
Ensure that the Directorate competency based training package for staff are implemented within the working environment.
The post holder will be expected to balance a suitable mix of clinical and managerial commitments each week.

Educations, Training and Qualifications
Essential
- Degree in Physiotherapy
- Formal management qualification (e.g. IHM) or equivalent management experience
- Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (HPC Registered)
- Proven evidence of teaching and professional development
- Full valid Driving License
Desirable
- Masters Level
- Membership of the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Management (ACPM)
Knowledge and Experience
Essential
- Previous experience of working at Band 6 level or above
- Proven management skills with evidence of successful finance and budgetary experience and achievement of significant operational objectives
- Track record of performance managing teams and individuals including therapy staff, nursing & administrative teams
- Ability to work on own initiative
- Broad based clinical experience
- Leadership and motivation skills
- High level of inter-personal skills
