Job summary

Join the Corporate Practice Development team; we are passionate about developing and supporting the internationally recruited nurses. This post will focus on the delivery and teaching of the Health Care Support workers are adequately confident and competent for the delivery of ward based care. The programme is well established and has received excellent reviews.

We are looking for a nurse who has experience of supporting nurses in the clinical environment, ideally teaching experience and excellent clinical skills. You will need to be able to provide feedback and demonstrate the ability to adapt your communication skills to the situation. In addition, you will be required to use your initiative to solve problems and prioritise your work, with the support of the lead nurse. Teaching skills in both a formal classroom and within the clinical area will be fundamental for this post.

Main duties of the job

Support the Band 7 Corporate Practice Development Nurses in:

The delivery/teaching of training programmes and supporting the wider teams

Understand and support those members of staff whereby English is not their first language and cultural differences.

Provide ongoing support for the clinical staff.

Encourage the concept of continual professional development through the delivery of competency and evidence-based programmes of education and training across the Trust.

Be involved in implementing and monitoring service change using plan, do, study, act (PDSA) cycle or equivalent tool.

Upholds and demonstrates the Trust values.

Support compliance with internal and external healthcare standards.

Act as a clinical role model, demonstrating supportive behaviours.

Support the development and understanding of the Nursing/Midwifery/AHP Strategy, Trust objectives and vision.

In conjunction with the Band 7 Corporate Practice and Professional Development Nurse, assist in the delivery of on-going development of the of ensuring good practice guidance and competency frameworks are in place, fully implemented and evaluated.

On occasions there may be a requirement to support staff in the clinical practice environment.

Demonstrate and promote excellent interpersonal skills, written, verbal and nonverbal communication styles.

Influence and nurture positive attitudes and behaviours within the teams and wider multidisciplinary team.
