Job summary
The Deputy Head of Imaging reports to the Head of Imaging and is accountable to the Clinical Director of Diagnostics for the effective operational management of the directorate.
The directorate of Imaging encompasses Radiology, Nuclear Medicine and Medical Photography. The directorate sits within the Clinical Support Services Division. The hospital is a busy district general which is now part of a newly formed group with Kettering General Hospital. The trusts are currently developing a joint clinical strategy to deliver health care to the county.
The post holder will be part of driving forward the changes required to deliver diagnostic imaging across the group.
This is an exciting opportunity especially for somebody who is interested in managing organisational change.
Main duties of the job
To provide strong visible management and professional leadership to the Imaging Directorate, assisting in the preparation of the directorate's strategic direction, and Integrated Business Plan for approval by the Clinical Director and Divisional Management Team.
To help implement new and innovative business management processes to maximise the departmental efficiency and drive forward agreed changes.
Provide support and direction for managers within the Directorate, as well as other managers and staff within Imaging.
Help to develop effective teams within the directorate using their leadership skills, ensure staff are clear on what is required using the Trust appraisal system and management processes.
Lead on the implementation of new policies
Participate in Senior Manager on call rota for the Trust.
