Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity to develop a dedicated prehabilitation/rehabilitation service to support patients in preparation for cancer treatment.
We are seeking an exceptional, inspirational, dynamic and experienced Occupational therapist and Physiotherapist to lead and develop a new innovative cancer prehabilitation program.
The Macmillan Prehabilitation/Rehabilitation program will support people preparing for cancer treatment by enhancing their clinical, functional and emotional outcomes as well as improving patient experience.
Applicants are invited from registered therapists who hold a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy/Occupational Therapy registered with the Health Care Professionals Council (HCPC) who are able to demonstrable experience / specialist interest in working with people living with cancer. They should be able to demonstrate excellent reasoning skills in the management of complex needs and be able to work autonomously as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Successful candidates will develop and implement a service specification, governance procedures and KPIs.

Main duties of the job
Responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of the dedicated Macmillan Cancer Prehab/rehab program
Screen patients prior to cancer treatment, providing specialist support and clinical assessment to optimise patients physical and emotional health through needs-based prescribing of exercise, nutrition, and psychological interventions as part of the personalised care and support agenda.
Offer targeted and specialist prehabilitation interventions for those with more complex needs in line with the East Midlands Gold Standards, referring to community services to maximise health and wellbeing, proactively identifying adjustments to maintain or enhance mobility and safety.
Develop robust mechanisms to evaluate the effectiveness of the Macmillan program including patient feedback
