Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a specialised Paediatric Physiotherapist to work within our team and further their career. You will be forward thinking, dynamic and must have demonstrated paediatric physiotherapy experience including working within an acute paediatric physiotherapy environment at either an experienced Band 6 or Band 7 level.

Main duties of the job

To provide a highly specialised paediatric physiotherapy service for children with a varietyof complex and challenging conditions.

To act as a role model for clinical, operational and professional leadership, setting andupholding agreed standards and processes to enable patients to receive high qualityevidence-based care.

To advise and educate carers, other professionals and voluntary agencies and maintaineffective communication within the multidisciplinary environments.

To advise and educate other members of the Children's Physiotherapy team on ownspecial interest areas and work closely with the rest of the team to ensure a seamlessservice.

To participate in the planning, development, and evaluation of the Children's Physiotherapyservice within the trust, holding responsibility for defined projects and activities andproviding regular feedback to the Head of Children's Physiotherapy.

Provide effective input into the work of the Trust, to support the achievement of our visionand values.

To be professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of the practitioners professional activities.

To undertake the highly specialist assessment, as an autonomous practitioner of childrenwith musculo-skeletal, developmental, neuromuscular, respiratory and other complex problems in a range of settings, as a lone practitioner.

To provide highly specialised physiotherapy care and treatment for paediatric patients based on theoretical knowledge and relevant practical experience, and to be consulted frequently for highly specialist advice and guidance by junior team members and other health care professionals both within and outside the trust.

To formulate, evaluate and reassess individualised physiotherapy management and / or treatment plans, using clinical reasoning skills and utilising a wide range of treatment skills and options in order to formulate a specialised programme of care.

To demonstrate a sound understanding of clinical governance, clinical risk and todemonstrate the use of treatment plans with an evidence-based link.

To ensure that a high standard of clinical practice and patient care is maintained and to ensure that other physiotherapists in the team do likewise, through ongoing competency assessment and evaluation of treatment outcomes.

To keep up to date with clinical developments, analysing current research and discussing and implementing changes in clinical practice accordingly.

To participate in the daytime weekend and bank holiday on call service.

Essential

  • Degree or equivalent in Physiotherapy
  • Evidence of ongoing CPD relevant to specialist area
  • Evidence of current working registration within HCPC

  • Significant post-graduate experience of working within paediatric Physiotherapy in a wide variety of clinical settings.
