Job summary
A unique and exciting opportunity to join a team of Operating Department Practitioners specialising in Critical Care. Based in our brand new Critical Care unit, due to open Spring 2022, you will provide advanced clinical support for all critically ill and injured patients. Whilst working on the Critical Care Unit, you will provide assistance to all clinical interventions as well as maintaining and managing all specialist equipment. Training will be provided to enable you to support trauma and cardiac arrest calls for both adult and paediatric patients in our busy emergency department and across the trust. As a Critical Care ODP, you will also be a key facilitator of the safe transfer of all Critical Care patients in both inter and intra hospital transfers.
Main duties of the job
To Assist the LODP in managing the technical requirements of the Critical Care Unit.
To provide advanced clinical support in the Critical Care Unit and the NGH emergency teams
To deputise for the LODP as Critical Care lead for technical related issues within the Trust.
To facilitate staff training in specialist Critical Care medical equipment and procedures.
