Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual who is looking to progress through the CESR route or to a Specialist post in Dermatology. The department is committed to supporting the successful candidate with either route they decide to pursue.
The successful candidate will complement and support the existing three Consultant Dermatologists, medical and nursing staff for the population of South Northamptonshire.
The appointed candidate will be able to work independently, and to support the existing dermatology team to provide general dermatological services to Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust. This includes carrying out outpatient clinics, supporting trainee doctors in the department and nursing staff and seeing patients on the ward. There is no commitment to the on-call general medical services.
It is essential that the post-holder shall have full registration and a Licence to Practice with the General Medical Council

Main duties of the job
This is an opportunity to join an ambitious and forward-looking Dermatology service. The post is full time (10 sessions), fixed term post as a Specialty Doctor to complement the Dermatology department in the hospital. With opportunities for part time work for applicants who may prefer this option. This post will complement and augment the existing dermatology services currently provided by the two existing Consultant Dermatologists, One Associate Specialist and a Full time Specialty Doctor and a part time Specialty Doctor at NGH and fully supported by a specialist registrar, a clinical fellow, a CT 1/2 and three clinical assistants.

Northampton General Hospital provides skin care for the populace of Northamptonshire and beyond. We are proud of a cohesive team of experienced staff from all disciplines within the Trust. Our department is based within its own purpose built unit and has excellent support from specialist trained nurses. There are good links with Plastic surgery and Maxillofacial departments, which is based at Northampton General Hospital with regular MDTs facilitated by a skin cancer specialist nurse.
The department has two Consultant Dermatologists and a part-time Locum Consultant Dermatologist. It is supported by an Associate Specialist, Specialist Registrar, a Clinical Fellow, a CT 1/2 and five Clinical Assistants.
